My kind of weekend staycation at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle

Cool hotel alert! So I've always been more aware about Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle as a student-populated establishment, since my friends who graduated from DLSU Main and Benilde have somehow shared their stories of having to visit the said building from time to time for classes. I never thought that guests would actually check-in there until recently when I myself was able to have a quick weekend staycation at one of Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle's Superior Twin rooms, which was elegant and compact at the same time. Check out the rest of my photos during my stay!

I was easily impressed by the high ceilings, cool lighting, clean sheets and a well-stocked fridge with soda and sweet treats. I also brought my work with me (because I love working) so the office desk included in the room was perfect.

I tried to mirror my phone to the TV on this room but didn't work, but this isn't really big of a deal. I'm happy though that there is enough outlets to cover all the gadgets that I have with me. Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle's bathroom standards may not be as high when it comes to their Superior Room but their shower is super clean and having a phone near the toilet definitely has some five-star feels to it.

Loving the lighting in this room!

There's literally a perfect room for you at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle. For example, families and businessmen on a visit to Manila can avail of the One Bedroom Suite, which has more space than the Superior Room. My favorite part of this room is the full bathroom with awesome window treatment!

The suite also comes with a full living area with lots of seating and relaxing spaces.

And just in case you would want to splurge a bit more, take time to check if the Presidential Suite at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle is available for your ultimate and super comfortable staycation! This is best for bigger families or just someone who is in dire need of the best that Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle has to offer. Personally, the best parts in this room are the super comfy king sized bed, personal kitchen space, a luxurious bathroom complete with marble bathtub and TV, and your own make-up room / walk-in closet.

Backpackers and groups of businessmen will love the Dormitories at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle. I suddenly remembered my first ever backpacking experience in Amsterdam and how it was much cheaper compared to getting my own room.

And with separate cubicles for laptops and gadgets, charging and working is as easy as pie! I imagined myself just concentrating on my work while gazing at the realness of urban Manila.

And if you go back down at the lobby of Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle, hang out and chill at Cafe Romancon while enjoying a cool drink and some snacks while watching local TV.

It wasn't til a few hours later and I went back to the Cafe to have dinner. To be honest, I'm not the pickiest eater, but I appreciate good food, and Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle has good food at reasonable prices.

It's obvious that the food is made from scratch and no substitutes. The Cream of Mushroom was fresh and filling, and the Carabaccia is a very good version of onion soup originated in Tuscany.

The Norweigan Salmon was flaky, moist and flavorful; and the vegatables were more than enough for one person.

And the Friesan Express made with hanging beef tender steak was ultimately tender! The side of fries was amazing as well! It's one of the most reasonable steak and frites that I've found in Manila (which means that I will definitely be back for this one!)

As for dessert, it's their Sizzling Brownies that gave a good ending to our meal! I'm such a fan of hot/cold desserts, so this is super yummy indeed.

And to think I was already so full from the night before, I burned my precious energy on laying around and watching Netflix the whole night, only to wake up the next morning, this time so I can enjoy the Breakfast Buffet at Cafe Romancon. Oh and did I say that I just love to eat food? Hopefully you'd get the idea hahahaha!

Personally, freshly baked bread and butter plus freshly brewed coffee is life. But I made an exemption on that day and tried other things as well.

The Fish Fillet with Sweet and Sour Sauce adds to the Asian influence on the menu.

Sausages are a breakfast staple as well.

Cereal is actually more of a treat rather than something I'd normally have for breakfast.

And some Tiramisu for breakfast? Why not!

Bonus: Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle has a very cute swimming pool at the rooftop!

And a good French inspired restaurant is located on the rooftop too. Too bad I wasn't able to check this out since it's school break, and normally, the people 'working' here are composed of students from Benilde. I shall try this when I get the chance next time!

The restaurant has also been a favorite place for private events and gatherings, so feel free to contact Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle and ask them about having your next party held there.

Overall, I like staying at Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle simply because everything is relaxed. People aren't running around and getting all stressed. It's not the busiest hotel on the block and I like that because I am a fan of peace and quiet. After all, it's most people would like to have when getting a vacation, right?

On the other hand, it's also the best option for families, couples, backpackers and business travelers who are looking for better options than the usual. With close proximity to Manila's business districts and airport, this is one of the better choices for all of you!

If you're in for a super chill staycation, Hotel Benilde Maison De La Salle is on top of my list of reasonably priced hotels in Manila.
