Have you tried the new dishes at Main Street in Kapitolyo?

One thing is for sure, I have only been to a few places in my life, but it always feels like I'm right at the heart of every destination because of the food that I eat here in Manila.

Take, for example, Main Street which is located in Kapitolyo, Pasig and has been serving some good Canadian grub for a few years now. A few months ago, they revamped their menu and caught up with owner Adam Tan, who has been generous as ever to let us try some of the new items at his restaurant.

Adam told us then that he has been busy with a lot of TV guestings and private events, so that means that you have to check out Main Street and don't get left behind since they are now making way to be part of your company event, whether it'll be for something as simple as a meeting or even something massive such as conferences and parties.

Check out their new menu, which was still in mint condition when I saw it the last time I was there.

New starters include a tangy, salad with greens, oranges, smoky Cajun spiced prawns and parm tossed in dijon mustard vinaigrette. I remember vividly on how I finished this plate (yes, for a moment I shared my love for veggies). The oranges and parm used in this Cajun Spiced Prawn Salad brought that sweet and salty addition that I just couldn't get enough of.

When you think of Canada, poutine would always be the first thing that comes to mind, but what if you tried the Supreme Poutine? Instead of the traditional cheese curds and gravy, this gets an added more kick with flank steak, salsa, and cilantro crema.

Ragu and garlic bread are two of my favorite things in the world. And to think that Main Street has got a Beef Shin Ragu with the most flavorful garlic bread just makes me gaga. This masterpiece reminds me of good ol' home cooking that's now hard to get, considering that the prices in Manila nowadays are getting higher and the quality of food is at risk because of it.

Barbecue Chicken Pizza


Okay, so here's the thing: I think that Main Street's Barbecue Chicken Pizza may be better than the one who is known for doing the same thing for many years now. Although the owner admits that it's because of that same resto on why he decided to come up with his own version. Just look at that wonderful crust and tender cajun spiced chicken chunks on top!

Tomato Braised Seafood Stew
My favorite new dish from Main Street is this Tomato Braised Seafood Stew which can be served with either bread or rice. Simply put, this is a dish using different kinds of seafood on a bedbath of a tomato-based bouillabaisse. My favorite moment is mopping out all the lovely seafood juices using the crusty bread. I think the only thing that's missing is a good dollop of butter on my bread. Overall, this is so light and yummy, I love it!

Burgers!!
I think I may be executed for saying this because I am not a superduper fan of burgers. Why? Because all the food would usually get stuck in my braces, so I had to use a knife and fork just to eat them. But the burgers at Main Street are quite an exemption. My favorites that you can try are the Caramelized and Bleu, and the Double Bacon Burger.

Chicken Fingers
I don't think there's anything else to describe Chicken Fingers, but with the added fries just make this dish super worth your buck. Same goes for their Steak and Fries, which is sold for less than Php500. Wow, right?

Steak and Frites
Desserts at Main Street are homemade as well, and they are super good! They have three at the resto, and some coffee to go with it that's your style when it comes to enjoying desserts!
