The Tapenade and Gilarmi Lounge Experience inside Discovery Primea Makati
"C'MON NINES, go get A SALAD", quipped a good friend of mine when I finally arrived at the lovely Tapenade restaurant inside Discovery Primea in Makati. I was exhausted from the traffic and I was offered a salad and answered here with an "ugh" which totally sounded like I was not interested in veggies. Not that I didn't like it though - it was just my way of joyfully greeting my rainbow friend Margaux who I haven't seen in ages because of the super long Holiday break.
But Discovery Primea has the right to offer you a salad. Fact was, not only do they have a salad bar, but they have AN ENTIRE ROOM dedicated to it. Enter The Salad Room.
And no, it's not all greens and dressings. There's an entire station full of cheese and deli on one corner...
...an entire station just for dressings and sauces...
...a full fledged station for all the greens you want to munch on...
...and unlimited servings of cooked shellfish such as shrimps and mussels.
A caesar salad is not an option at the Salad Room. Get that dish and fill it with all that yummy green fiber.
This plate was very similar to the things I enjoy eating back in Europe, and the reason is clear: Tapenade offers high-quality Mediterranean fare and brick-oven specialties that are hard to find anywhere else in Manila.

The variety of tonic water displayed is amazing. I feel like looking at a corner of a Gin and Tonic museum.
Bottles of Bitters look like old school medicines from the 1800s
Fresh fruits and other interesting ingredients to liven up your drink.
Oh there's Nori on this drink. Different but yum.
