Gelare is now in the Philippines!

Well-known Natural Ice Cream and Cafe brand Gelare finally landed in Manila with its first branch in Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City. According to the people who brought this homegrown brand from Australia (Gelare was both in Perth and expanded throughout Brisbane), it is said to be expanding in The Philippines soon after having more than fifty branches from the branches in the land down under as well as in neighboring countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Here in the Philippines, Gelare sticks to their bestsellers such as their waffles, pancakes, coffee, milkshakes, smoothies and all-day breakfast. I was invited to their exclusive media event a few weeks back and I was able to take a bite at some of their awesome dishes. There were a lot of people during this event so I decided that I may just need to come back again soon to fully appreciate what Gelare is all about. So for now, let me just run you through what happened when I was there.

As I try my best to roam around the small but cozy cafe, I whiffed the intoxicating smell of freshly cooked waffles. While I was tempted to order one, I finally decided that I had to try the Gelato first. And being a strawberry lover (not a fighter - char), I was able to ask for a small cup so I can still get to try more dishes later.

The freshness of the strawberries was addicting, and I know I had to go back soon to order it (and pay for it this time). My friend ordered the Banana Nutella Waffle, which was a usual order but it was filled with all the good stuff (see photo below). However, I ordered the Waffles and Chicken instead, which was actually, not that bad, but it wasn't the best either.

I know a place in Manila that does the best Chicken and Waffles, and I am so biased lol, so it's probably because of this so their version wasn't as favorable. In summary, skip the chicken, but it's nice to try the waffles with the other toppings next time.

Here's the menu for your reference guys! Don't forget to let me know what you've tried and please please share it on the comments! Or if you already tried this from other countries, please let me know your thoughts too!
