'Sex and Two Cities' Event; The first COCA Bar in the Philippines is at SM Aura Sky Garden

From the guys that brought to us Mango Tree, Slappy Cakes, and COCA Restaurant, a new attraction has made its way for all the ladies who would just like to have that night-out they's been wanting to have. SM Aura just got another addition of sheer sophistication with the opening of COCA Bar, at the rooftop of the mall, within the surroundings of SM Aura Sky Garden. It's an al fresco set-up with a black/red theme that screams chic and sexy.

This is actually an outside extension to COCA Restaurant, which is located in one of the airconditioned stalls in the said vicinity. It was my second time to be at the Sky Garden (the first time is was fairly new with more vacabt stalls) and I'm just impressed with the roster of restaurants that had opened during the last few months. COCA Bar opened late last May 2014 and lucky for me for being invited at the night of the launch.

You will never think that there is a bar at the rooftop of SM Aura.

And I love how the place looks dashing and pretty as the sun goes down!

During the launch, entitled "Sex and Two Cities", they had a DJ spinning great house music...perfect while we get read to unwind with our girlfriends after a long and tiring day at work.

COCA Bar is a unique fusion of cultures, flavors, and interests. It's what you get when you mix cocktails from their English mixologist, Thai and Chinese infused tapas, Philippine climate.

Here is the Siam Sexy, which is a mix made with vodka, lime juice and amaretto.

...Ming's Gold...which I haven't tried yet...

And the Black Mandarin, or what I call 'tipsy iced coffee'.

I wasn't really in a drinking mood, but I did enjoy the Iced Tea that they served along with some of their featured Thai-Chinese tapas creations.

One of which, is the Shrimp Sarong, which is shrimp balls covered in fried noodles. Yummy!

The Basil Pork Frito are just like your usual dumplings, but the freshness of basil adds aroma and more depth to the filling.

This is the same Basil Pork Frito, which is only done differently... all of which are served under a bed of creamy dressing.

As the night gets deeper, more and more people arrived at the venue, the music gets a bit faster, and the drinks just came flowing in.

Here is a quick look at some of their cocktails.

Of course, I wasn't gonna leave until I take a picture with Betsy from the Mango Tree Group, and my officemate Vian, who didn't hesitate coming with me during that night! Too bad I had to go soon, but I'm sure she enjoyed it at COCA Bar too!

And after six decades since COCA's launch in Bangkok, Thailand, COCA Bar (and restaurant, and cafe) is finally here in the Philippines.
