Pre-Dinner Date Make-up Thanks To Revlon Mobile Salon

A lot of my friends would notice that I'm not really the type of girl who goes gaga over make-up. Sure, I have a few on my not-so-used make-up kit, but for me, putting it on is more of a literal hassle than the thought of making my face look enhanced and real. It's very rare that I get to put on make-up, and to go out on dates with my bf is not one of those days. Usually, it's only during seldom night-outs and very special occasions. Personally, nothing is more real than to go out of the house with a nude face and a dab of clear lip balm to avoid my chapped lips problem. But here is where the Revlon Mobile Salon comes in.

Last week, I got the chance of adding a little bit of color on my face a few minutes after work, thanks to my quick trip at the Revlon Mobile Salon.

Revlon is a globally known international hair and make-up brand, and with a stream of fresh products that you can have for your own vanity kits, they came up with the idea of the Revlon Mobile Salon wherein you can sample their products, learn the basics of make-up from respected MUAs to having yourself a quick makeover.

The first leg of the Revlon Mobile Salon started at Madison Square in Boni, which is just a few minutes away from my work in Ortigas. Thanks to my bf, who was very supportive, urged me to go on a makeover while trying his best to pull a joke on me, telling me that it's not everyday he gets to see me as a girl, or as a human being even. He's just so funny [ and I'm saying this with a sincere sarcastic smile haha :) ].

Anyway, picking on each other with bf is a normal thing. My path to face color at the Revlon Mobile Salon started with a quick registration outside the vehicle. Participants are required to simply register their names and then log-in on their Facebook accounts for them to like the Revlon Philippines Page. I was advised to like the make-up page for Revlon since I noticed that there is a separate Revlon Philippines Facebook Page for hair styling and its products. Participants should be sure that they log out before finally heading to the salon area inside.

I also got this cute Revlon gift bag full of goodies.

To my surprise, here is what I got: a Revlon Colorstay Overtime™ Lengthening Mascara, Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lip Gloss, Revlon Photoready BB Cream™, Revlon Brilliant Strength™ Nail Polish and the Revlon Colorstay™ Eyeshadow.

The salon inside was utterly amazing. It had an area for a few participants waiting in line, a monitor where all the Revlon videos are being shown, these cute lighted mirrors used in a lot of productions, and tons of make-up. You'll definitely feel like a model waiting to get prepped before going on stage.

Lots and lots and lots of shades of lipstick, colorful eyeshadows and playful nail colors are also neatly packed near the vanity mirror. Participants are free to check them out for sampling. Just, please don't do a dreadful mistake of bringing them home.

Geraldine was the one who was giving me some tips on how to put on make-up properly. After tidying up my eyebrows, she then started the sesh with a layer of primer on my face, she also added the Revlon CC Cream™, and even let me tried this Revlon Nearly Naked™ Make-up on my face. And wouldn't you believe that after putting these on my skin, it still felt light and it just made my face look naturally dewey but non-greasy at the same time.

On my eyes, she used a separate primer from the Revlon Photoready™ make-up line which helped brighten my eyelids as well as help keep my eye make-up on for a longer time.

Since I only opted for a daytime look, it really didn't take long compared to the time that I do my own make-up. Without anything added on my lips yet (see how chapped it is without the lip balm haha), she told me to look down whenever I put on mascara for even coverage.

I'm not really a fan of putting eyebrow liner on my eyebrows either, but she insisted I try it. You can check out the final look in a bit. Meanwhile, my hair was just curled on the ends to bring back its volume. Or maybe the hair stylist preferred to stay and just curl the ends because of my untamed thick long hair which I admit is getting heavier by the day (might as well get a haircut soon).

I knew that Geraldine was about to target my lips next, but I was quite hesitant to put on lip color so I told her all about my allergy problem with petrolatum based products. A lot of popular lippies and even lip balms have that ingredient, which explains why I barely put anything at all. As much as my sensitive lips are concerned, I still tried the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable™ Balm Stain since it's just like a colored lip balm, she mentioned. So far, I didn't feel any tinge or itchiness that would bring back the Angelina Jolie in me, so I loved it's safe and hypoallergenic properties.

And surprise! My daytime look is done!

I looked really different, but I feel more elegant and my confidence level had quite a boost. My dinner date during that day just got an upgrade because of the new look. And I did learn a lot of stuff from these guys at the Revlon Mobile Salon. Thanks guys!

Speaking of an upgraded dinner date, I was able to satisfy my ramen cravings with a bowl of Ramen Bar's Shoyu Ramen, wherein from soy, the soup tasted more like seaweed after a few minutes. And bf had his serving of Beef Gyudon, which I didn't try, but noticed that it's one of the newer items at Ramen Bar.

The best part about using Revlon for me is their make-up's staying power. It's definitely long lasting, as I barely noticed any changes after we ate dinner. Especially my lips! They were still as vibrant as when I had it on hours ago.

P.S. Sorry guys for putting a lot of pictures of my face on this post, but I'm sure it won't happen anytime soon. Hehe!

Catch the Revlon Mobile Salon soon at your school or at office buildings near you, and free makeovers await girls who will present their purchased Revlon products. For more details, you can check out their official Facebook Page from time to time for updates on where they might be heading next.

  1. Cool! :D I didn't know that they have one in Madison. If I knew that they're around I would have probably went there and have my own make over.

    2. I almost thought I won't make it to having an actual makeover since I signed up an hour before they are about to leave Madison hahaha. My advise is to simply check the official Revlon FB Page from time to time to know their upcoming skeds. I'm gonna try to share it on my twitter also once they have the venues ready.

Thanks for the comment...and the compliment Jhanz! Appreciated it much sweety! :))
