How To Make Your Homemade "Chili Garlic Crab" Dip Recipe

Did you know that you can do a lot with stone crabs? Aside from boiling or using them for chowder, you can also make use of them and cook them into sauces and other spices. And although stone crabs are only abundant from Florida, we can readily use whatever fresh seafood in shells to make this simple Asian inspired recipe that I wanted to share with you guys.

I just found this website called Uber Stone Crabs who sells stone crabs in Florida, and I was thinking of ordering some....not for me but for my relatives there in Jacksonville to surprise them hehe.

This is a take on the usual but ever-so-yummy Chili Garlic Crab Dip which is a big hit in most Asian inspired restaurants and local seafood eateries. Unlike the original Chili Garlic Crab Dish, wherein the crab pieces are mixed in with the sauce while cooking, this one is a deconstructed version and you are free to use this as a sauce with any kinds of cooked shelled or unshelled seafood.

Homemade "Chili Garlic Crab" Dip

5 cloves minced garlic
1 tbsps. soy sauce
1 tbsp. sweet chili sauce (you can find these at Asian stores)
2 tbsps. banana ketchup (this is available at Asian stores too)
1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
1 tbsp. sriracha (vietnamese hot sauce)
1/2 dried chili flakes
1 cup mayonnaise

Mix all together and top with chopped cilantro and spring onions. You are also free to choose between fresh or slightly fried garlic depending on your flavor preference. Serve with freshly cooked stone crabs and enjoy!
