9 Steps On How To Make Your Own Barbecue Party: Fast and the Furious Style!

If you are planning on how to make your own barbecue party at home, then let me share with you this simple guide that you might have been looking for. Me, bf, and our friends have been waiting for this to happen after a few weeks of planning and I must say that in the end it was such a successful event!

The idea didn't come from me entirely, but I will let you in through the basics of planning, organizing and preparation of a great barbecue party. And just to make things more interesting, the idea was inspired with the last scenes of every Fast and Furious 1 and 6, most especially after the release of Furious6. I must say, all the guys in our group can't wait to wear sandos and be like Vin Diesel.

Just Vin Diesel. No other guy character. Hahaha! But hey, let's move on shall we! Here is your definitive guide on how to make your own barbecue party at home, Furious6 style. Just so you know, my guide is not going to work without your friends, so get everyone in your barkada involved and start "grillin" this barbecue party!

Step 1: Make some teasers and save the date.
Parties become great not only because of having everything prepared, but making sure that everybody is available at a given date of the barbecue party. So gather them up and use the best medium possible where everyone can have access like Facebook. You can also use the same medium to do the planning and sharing of other details as indicated on Steps 2 and 3.

Step 2: Have a theme, and most importantly a venue.
The theme used during our barbecue party was Hawaiian/Furious6. This is entirely optional, but it acts as a focal point to any given party.  Since this is a Barbecue Party and we're making this legit, a house with a garden and a barbecue grill is essential.

Step 3: Potluck is the way to go!
If you wanted to have a successful barbecue party without breaking your budget with success, then you can always have friends to help you out with the things that are needed and what food to contribute for the party. Here is a checklist along with the essentials that you can use for your upcoming barbecue party.

AND OTHER MATERIALS like
Charcoal, Kitchen Tongs, Basting Brush
Ice in Ice Buckets
Plates, Drinking Cups, Spoon and Fork, Tissue
Garbage Bags

Step 4: Now is the time to be patient.
I personally can relate to this. I actually became too patient (and busy) that I was only able to prepare the kebabs on the actual day of the event! Me and bf were disappointingly late but good thing we made it in time, as the boys were in the middle of grilling the food.

Step 5: Have a back-up tent.
Barbecue parties are best done during the summer, but if you want to make it all year round, you can set-up a tent just in case the rain starts pouring. In the Philippines, the rain goes from subtle to berzerk starting in the month of June, and we were really hoping for the rain to not ruin our day just yet.

The best thing? God blessed us with a rain-free day in Manila during last Saturday (June 15)! But it did rain quite hard a few days after that.

Step 6: Have enough of everything...including the charcoal!
This is just an advise for those who are planning for their upcoming barbecue party. We ran out of charcoal, but good thing some of us went out to replenish the coals and continuted on with the grilling. This is the same with everything else. More is better!

Step 7: Grillin' ain't easy, so do some switches guys.
Usually the boys are in charge of this, but I cannot stop shedding out the guy in me and volunteered to finish cooking the food instead. I love the taste of grilled food, but I really don't fancy the aftermath of grilling. Smelling like you've gotten yourself into a smoker is not appealing, so try to bring an extra piece of clothing after you've done your job on the grill.

Step 8: Thou shall not forget the music.
A DJ Set-up is what we opted for during the barbecue party. So bf brought his things and also invited one of his DJ friends over to do another set (and not forget to let him drink too). I even started doing some transitions and became DJ during that time, but I admit that I need more practice (ehem).

Step 9: And the most important step of all.....
Pray before you eat! So don't go and start reachin' for the chicken just yet if you don't want to Say Grace.

So there you go! This is just my take on how we did it, and we can say that it was a blast! Good luck in organizing your next barbecue party!
