My Buddha Bar Manila Experience: Part 1

Sometimes you get to immerse yourself with a certain experience that you tend to include in your ''list of firsts''. And during last March 1, I was able to acquire a pretty heavy number of firsts at Buddha Bar Manila, which is located conveniently at Picar Place (pronounced as pai-kar) in Kalayaan Makati.

Being the first of its kind in the Philippines, the fourth franchise in Asia, and the largest Buddha Bar compared all its global counterparts, Buddha Bar Manila gives you the best experience in terms of dining, ambiance, music and chilling out. No wonder it was awarded as one of the Philippines' Best Restaurants last 2012, officially seen as its stamped on their almost majestic entrance door. This should be good, right?

I admit, as someone who belongs from the middle class, my first impression was pure intimidation. Like 150% pure. I mean, why would I even go here in the first place? I had no idea of what Buddha Bar Manila offers as it looks very posh and swanky and high-end. Plus, I live in QC. Surely there are a lot more options that I can go to within my area. However, as I slapped on my forehead while telling myself that looks can be deceiving, soon after, I felt like I belong at Buddha Bar Manila, and I had the best night-out ever!

But because I want you guys to understand what I mean, let's divide my experience into three parts. Let's say this is just a sneak peek and there is far more in store for me to tell. Sorry for me being in love with utmost detail, but the food review should be done separately before I make a uber long write-up. And I don't want to get your eyes tired from reading this :))

The overall concept of Buddha bar Manila transcends from the visual concepts of the rest of the Buddha Bars in other parts of the world. Buddha Bar Manila was no exception when it comes to materials, and most of the things like the iconic Buddha and lush furniture came from different parts of the world. Even the swanky oriental elevator with touchscreen-like buttons and dim lights on came directly from Paris.

As soon as I stepped inside their travel machine like door, I simply asked myself as to where the eff am I. It was a piece of heaven indeed, and my time froze for a bit. Sorry if I may use some brand's It was simply amazing.

Gold and red laden interiors are evidently executed in contemporary oriental fashion. It was intimate, exciting, relaxing, and attractive. Personally, I got a crush on their spa-like restroom located at the lower ground floor of Buddha Bar Manila. And the stairs, And the oriental yet stylish paintings on the red dim-lighted walls. And I wasn't even seeing the rest of the place.

Meantime, their ground floor is what they call The Lounge, a large and spacious indoor area with equally spacious al fresco areas in front and on the back of the whole building. Lowered tables, comfy dining chairs like small sofas, a wide bar area, and high ceilings that lets you take a peek from the second floor where the restaurant and sushi bar situates are the things that you should expect.

Ooh, and they're even selling Fendi perfumes for men and women! But only during this time as Fendi sponsored Buddha Bar's recent social media event :)
The restaurant boasts of high-class plating with top notch pieces that I only get to see at five-star hotels. Even their sushi bar looks swanky that I wouldn't mind having a quick bite of sushi whenever I crave for it.

Oh, and did I mention the Buddha? It was flown straight from Paris, so to anyone who has been in other Buddha Bar locations all over the world, I'm sure no Buddha Bar is complete without this statue. Protruding like it's hanging from the mid section of the ground and second floors, it's one of the most beautiful sights that I have encounters in a restaurant. And they say the quality of Buddha Bar Manila is quite comparable to New York already. I'm sure it's something that we should be proud of having here.

The last part of the Buddha Bar interiors was a final shock, but indeed, they proved to take on new heights with giving the ultimate experience. Hanging out on this place would be refreshing and surreal for me. But I would love to go back here with my friends. So let's take a look at the rooftop area with one of the biggest koi ponds that I have ever seen.

Going back on the restroom I fancied downstairs, having to see the rooftop is outstanding! I would love to hang out with my friends on a few occasions if I wanted to splurge a bit more on dinner and some drinks. And I can't believe that even without the food I already fell in love with Buddha Bar Manila. I can't wait to finish the next part of my Buddha Bar Manila experience, as I'm sure that I can have everything wrapped up on my next post, so watch out for it! Until then!
